Birthdays & Anniversaries

Each year, thousands of birthday and wedding anniversary cards are sent to people celebrating significant birthdays and wedding anniversaries.

The Anniversaries Office has reopened and it is now possible to apply for a congratulatory message from The King and The Queen Consort.  Applications can be made online or by post, please see details below.

If you have already made an application and the wedding anniversary or birthday has now passed, a belated message will be sent from Their Majesties. You do not need to reapply and you will receive a new email or letter confirmation when a message has been arranged.

Please note that due to a large backlog of applications, there may be a delay to the processing and delivery of congratulatory messages. Messages will be delivered as soon as possible, but the Anniversaries Office is unable to specify a date at this time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

The delivery of these messages is arranged by the Anniversaries Office at Buckingham Palace, continuing a tradition which goes back to 1917.

Cards are sent to those celebrating their 100th and 105th birthday and every year thereafter, and to those celebrating their diamond wedding (60th), 65th, 70th wedding anniversaries and every year thereafter.
